1) Q: What is Science Olympiad?
A: Science Olympiad (AKA Scio) is a club combining scientific challenges, applied thinking, teamwork, and dedication. Students are involved in various testing and building competitive events, ranging from Forensics to Bridge Building. Team members prepare to compete for medals in their events at the Regional Science Olympiad Competition in order to advance to the State Science Olympiad Competition. The drive, self-motivation, and cooperation of students fuel this club’s success.

3) Q: Sounds awesome! How do I join the team?
A: Show your commitment to Science Olympiad! Please attend as many meetings as you can. They will be held on Thursdays and certain Fridays after school. But that’s not all; putting effort to study or to build outside of club meeting times is imperative. Officers and advisors will conduct note checks periodically as well as administer practice tests to measure how prepared you are for your events.
4) Q: If I have questions, how do I contact the officers or advisors?
A: Follow us on Twitter @Hauppaugescio and check our website, hauppaugescio.weebly.com! Feel free to tweet and email us with any questions. The bulletin board in the science wing also is updated frequently.

A: Invitationals - a Saturday in mid December
Regionals - a Saturday at the end of January
States - sometime in March
6) Q: Phew! Anything else I need to know?
A: Yes! Dues for the club are $20, which includes your t-shirt! Please give your dues to
Alex Vasilakopoulos along with your t-shirt size. Without the dues and the size, we can’t order your super cool Scio t-shirt!
